Can CEO Panel Members Help Infosys To Steers Clear Off On 'Default CEO' Remark?

Bangalore: Indian IT bellwether  Infosys  is on to CEO hunt as SD Shibulalis to end his term in early 2015. There were media talks that Infosys' choices are down to default, for the company's first non-founder chief executive, if it chooses from within the company.

Ashok Vemuri and V Balakrishnan , who have both resigned, were previously believed to be probable candidates to become CEO of Infosys. BG Srinivas, 53, most experienced among the three fellow former board members and now is the only contender in the line, and the probability has flared up “default CEO” talks.

Srinivas, the head of Europe, as well as chief of banking and financial services globally, joined Infosys in 1999 and since has been aggressive in marketing and growing his team.

"You have either BG Srinivas (Europe head) or Chandrashekar Kakal (head of global delivery). Difficult to say whether who gets a chance as both have very meaty assignments, but I see that Infosys will still settle for someone from inside the company. It's generally very conservative" said Phani Sekhar, a fund manager with Angel Broking in Mumbai
