BANGALORE: Airvana, provider of small cell solutions, today announced that its OneCell™ system has been awarded the Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough, and Outstanding Overall Mobile Technology – the CTO’s Choice, at the Global Mobile Awards 2015 held by the GSMA at Mobile World Congress.
The awards recognize Airvana’s OneCell as a groundbreaking LTE small cell system that uses cloud RAN principles to deliver consistent, superior LTE performance throughout enterprises and public spaces with the economics and simplicity of managed Wi-Fi. OneCell supports plug-and-play deployment over standard Ethernet cabling and switches, eliminating the need for proprietary networks or expensive optical links. It is upgradeable to LTE-Advanced and supports multi-operator configurations.
The Best Mobile Technology Breakthrough Award identifies the most significant breakthrough technology in the entire mobile ecosystem. The Outstanding Overall Technology CTO’s Choice award was chosen from among the winners of all six Best Technology categories by a panel of CTOs from sixteen leading mobile network operators from around the world, making it the top technology honor at the prestigious industry awards.
