65 Pct Of Global Companies See BYOD As A Potential Threat: Report
Nearly 18 percent (2 percent more than in 2012) respondents have testified for data security breaches in their respective companies through emails, messages and other channels by employees’ errors and inappropriate use of mobile and tablet devices. These devices with all the critical company data are often stolen or lost.
With threats to security defenses, number of companies planning to curb the use of personal devices at work is on the rise. From 19 percent in 2012, it was up by 6 percent to 25 percent in 2013. Those planning to give high priority to security remain unchanged from last year, at 10 percent.
For BYOD integration, management and protection on the corporate network, 40 percent of companies are using antivirus solutions against 24 percent (2 percent lesser than in 2012) that use Mobile Device Management solutions. With connectivity and devices blurring lines of work, these statistics are vital for companies to address the security threats, from BYOD.
