65 Pct Of Global Companies See BYOD As A Potential Threat: Report



Bangalore: When corporate networks at one end are finding solutions to integrate, Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) into the work place, at the other end, these corporate’s are now increasingly finding it as a security risk to business.  The survey conducted by B2B International in collaboration with Kaspersky Lab on BYOD in work place, revealed that 65 percent of companies see BYOD as a business threat, reports Heena Jhingan of The Financial Express.

In the findings, Japanese respondents have expressed the most concern, with 93 percent views in sync to the BYOD threat to business. Participants in North America (69 percent) also had a high level of concern, followed by Middle East (65 percent) and Western Europe (62 percent). Russian companies were at the bottom of the table with only 57percent deeming it as a threat.

Most companies are still divided on the restriction of BYOD at work place. 31 percent respondents have voiced their support towards the use of personal smartphones and tablets at the work place. Another 34 percent are of the opinion, that prohibitive measures will not be curtailing the use of these devices.
