Bangalore: Despite the mass up-rise of concerns in cloud and data security, businesses and IT firms today are so confident enough that they have started adopting cloud based services and are also thinking of investing more on start-ups that associated with trends such as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and big data. Also these drifts have led to the growth certain startups that primarily focus on cloud and issues on guarding corporate data on BYOD devices.

So with that in mind, take a look at 10 security companies that are all set to make headlines in 2013, as compiled by CIO.com.

Allgress Business Risk Intelligence:

Headquarters: Livermore, California

Founded: 2008

Leadership: Gordon Shevlin, CEO and Jeff Bennett, Allgress president and COO

How they made onto the list:

It all started last June, when the company launched a suite designed to give an in-depth view of security and risk-compliance status of all the corporate networks and its data resources. The software was pretty impressive because it could give all the much needed info in separate charts, listing from strongest to weakest.

"It's about gathering the information together and helping them use what they have," according to Jeff Bennett, Allgress president and COO.

The company boasts of having more than 40 customers including eBay and several other banks.

Interesting Tip: Shevlin also co-founded another startup, Security Starfish, with eBay's former Chief Information Security Officer Dave Cullinane.
