WeWork India Bolsters Leadership Team with Strategic Board Appointments
WeWork India has made notable changes to its board of directors, bringing in a diverse group of professionals with extensive experience across various sectors as it enters its next phase of growth.
This newly constituted Board is strategically positioned to enhance WeWork India's focus on innovation, growth, and operational excellence, leveraging their varied backgrounds to drive the company’s strategic objectives forward.
Jitendra Mohandas Virwani, the Chairman and Managing Director of Embassy Group, transitions to the role of Non-Executive Chairman at WeWork India, leveraging his extensive industry expertise to enhance the company’s growth strategy. Karan Virwani has now taken on the expanded role of Managing Director & CEO.
Mahua Acharya and Anupa Rajiv Sahney are joining the board of WeWork India as Independent Directors, bringing their expertise to support the company’s sustainability efforts and overall corporate growth. Acharya, with a strong background in electric mobility and climate finance, previously served as Managing Director and CEO of Convergence Energy Services Ltd. Sahney, a respected consultant, is actively involved in several corporate and advisory boards, including her work with the Harvard South Asia Institute.
Adnan Ahmad, currently serving as a board member at WeWork Inc. and a senior advisor at Yardi Systems, Inc., will be appointed to the WeWork India board of directors, succeeding David Mayland, who holds the position of Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at WeWork Inc. This restructuring of the board underscores the unwavering confidence that Embassy Group and WeWork Inc. have in the sustained growth and strategic direction of their collaborative initiatives. Additionally, Manoj Kumar Kohli transitioned to independent director on September 27, 2024, enhancing the board’s governance further.
