Welspun One to Create Modern Warehousing Hub in Thane with WTCA

Welspun One has signed a strategic partnership with the World Trade Centres Association (WTCA) to create an innovative urban warehousing facility in Thane, Mumbai, with an investment of Rs 800 crore. The facility will cover one million square feet and house India's first mixed-use Urban Distribution Centre (UDC) that integrates retail, office spaces, food and beverage outlets, and experience centers.

With the rapid growth of e-commerce and growing demand by consumers to receive deliveries even faster, Welspun One aims to create these ready-to-use warehouses and smaller fulfilment centers in the Mumbai region so that businesses can deliver and provide much quicker and faster deliveries. Anshul Singhal, Managing Director at Welspun One said, "Modern warehousing has become indispensable in fulfilling quick commerce requirements.".

The 14-level UDC is to provide an ideal mix of office spaces, retail outlets, and food and beverage services. With 35 percent of the space already committed, the facility is strategically built to service a vast area that guarantees that businesses can reach half of Mumbai's households in just 30 minutes. This project will place WTC Thane as a main node for logistics, supply chain management, and retail distribution and will thus highly increase the infrastructure of the region.

Welspun One, a subsidiary of the global conglomerate Welspun World, is also investing Rs 2,700 crore in developing the largest single-location industrial park at Navi Mumbai's Jawaharlal Nehru Port, further reinforcing its commitment to taking India's logistics and warehousing sectors to the next level.
