UCO Bank Appoints Sumit Khandelwal as New Chief Financial Officer

·  Sumit Khandelwal appointed as new CFO of UCO Bank.

UCO Bank announced the appointment of Sumit Khandelwal as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from today, who will replace Sujoy Dutta, General Manager.

Khandelwal, 48 years of age, is a Commerce and Law graduate and a Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, and Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (CAIIB). With more than 15 years of experience in banking, he has played various roles in corporate branches, regional zones, and core departments of the bank. Previously, he was the Zonal Head in New Delhi.

UCO Bank, a Government of India undertaking, had a robust operating presence as of March 31, 2025, with 3,302 domestic branches, two overseas branches (in Hong Kong and Singapore), and one representative office in Iran. A noteworthy fact is that 61% of its branches are situated in rural and semi-urban centers. The bank also operates 2,522 ATMs and 10,653 Business Correspondent (BC) points, and thus a total of 16,480 customer touchpoints.

In the October-December quarter of FY25, UCO Bank registered a year-on-year increase of 24.1% in net profit at Rs 652.43 crore, on the back of a 16.5% growth in total income at Rs 8,136.79 crore.

UCO Bank shares fell 0.70% to Rs 34.03 on the BSE after the announcement.
