The E-Commerce Battle of Festive Sales at Its Peak

BANGALORE: As the festive sales on the e-commerce portals are getting heated up, we could see drastic change in the approach of the e-commerce giants this year. Unlike previous years the portals are concentrating on the financial benefits more than that of attracting customers with extravagant discount offers. The portals like Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart and Snapdeal are not giving away goods for an eye popping amount except some gadget pacts, reports Economic Times.

As the portals concentrated on the financial benefits it is evident that none of their fresh merchandise are on offer and they are coming up with special discounts over comparatively old and last season products. But we could see large sales in the gadget department from Samsung to IPhone all the exclusive devices had cut off their rates. But some of the companies decided to stick on to their values and have given very less discounts on their products.

The reason behind the change in approach is said to be profitability since companies where earlier concentrating on sales volume and promotion which resulted in the extravagant discounts in the past years. Mukesh Bansal the Co-founder of Flipkart stated "It's great to see 1.6 million app installs in the last two days, which is a great indicator that India has been preparing well for The Big Billion Days,"

As the portals are competing with each other there are so many information coming from sources which is related to the volume of sales. An Amazon spokesperson said that "We have seen an enthusiastic and energetic response from our customers through the year and in all our promotions including the first day of our Great Indian Festive Sale today, whereas Snapdeal said that it sold five mobile phones every second on Monday as it racked up total sales of $100 million.
