Tesla is gearing up to deepen its presence in India’s electric vehicle (EV) landscape with the launch of its second retail outlet in the country. The new Tesla Experience Centre is set to open on August 11 at Worldmark 3 in Aerocity, New Delhi a prominent hub for luxury retail and business in the National Capital Region (NCR).
This expansion comes just weeks after Tesla inaugurated its first showroom in India on July 15 at Maker Maxity Mall, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The high-profile Mumbai launch was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who encouraged the company to consider establishing R&D and manufacturing facilities in the state.
The Aerocity outlet, currently in its final construction stages, is expected to command a monthly rent of approximately Rs 25 lakh, reflecting Tesla’s premium market strategy. Leaked images of the near-complete facility have already surfaced on social media, further fueling excitement around the brand’s growing footprint in India.
Tesla is currently offering one model for Indian customers the Model Y. Priced from Rs 59.89 lakh (ex-showroom), it is available in two variants: a standard rear-wheel drive with a 60 kWh battery offering a WLTP-certified range of 500 km, and a long-range variant with a 75 kWh battery offering up to 622 km on a single charge.
Deliveries will be prioritized in major cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Gurugram. The vehicles will be delivered via flat-bed trucks directly to customers’ homes.
Tesla has also updated its website to enable vehicle registration across all Indian states and union territories. While the Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature is listed at an additional cost of Rs 6 lakh, it will be introduced in India at a later date.
The expansion signals Tesla’s intent to scale its Indian operations despite infrastructure and regulatory hurdles.
