Suzlon Signs Deal with Jindal Renewables for New Order

Suzlon announced on Tuesday that it has secured its third order of 204.75 MW from Jindal Green Wind 1, a subsidiary of Jindal Renewables. This new order marks Suzlon’s largest Commercial & Industrial (C&I) deal, bringing the total capacity from this partnership to 907.20 MW. The expanded collaboration highlights Suzlon’s growing presence in the renewable energy sector, particularly in the C&I space, and reflects strong demand for sustainable energy solutions from major industry players.

Suzlon had previously secured two orders to supply wind energy to Jindal Steel's plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, adding a total of 702.45 MW. With the latest 204.75 MW order from Jindal Green Wind 1, Suzlon’s partnership with Jindal Renewables now totals 907.20 MW. Currently, Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers represent 59% of Suzlon’s total order book, which has reached a record 5.9 GW — the highest in the company’s history. This achievement underscores Suzlon’s strong foothold in the renewable energy market and its growing influence in meeting the energy needs of large industrial clients.

Under this new order, Suzlon will supply 65 advanced S144 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with hybrid lattice towers (HLT), each with a capacity of 3.15 MW. The energy produced will be used for captive consumption at steel plants in Chhattisgarh and Odisha, improving the plants’ operational sustainability. This partnership is expected to significantly contribute to India's green energy transition, supporting the country’s shift towards renewable energy sources while boosting the sustainability of major industrial operations.

Girish Tanti, vice chairman, Suzlon Group, says, “Building on our initial successes in Karnataka, we’re now expanding the Low CO₂ Steel movement to Tamil Nadu, a trailblazer in wind energy”.

Bharat Saxena, president, Jindal Renewables, says”. This third order with Suzlon is a clear demonstration of our commitment to sustainable practices and our vision to become the largest de-carbonisation solution provider”.
