SpiceJet Partners with StandardAero to Restore Boeing 737 MAX Fleet

SpiceJet said it has entered into a strategic services partnership with U.S.-based MRO provider StandardAero Inc. It specializes in the CFM LEAP-1B engine, which is part of the restoration plan for SpiceJet's grounded Boeing 737 MAX fleet, which the airline aims to return three 737 MAX aircraft to service by April 2025.

The collaboration follows successful arrangements with CFM International, the OEM for LEAP-1B engines, ensuring material and support services for engine restoration. This move is part of SpiceJet’s larger fleet restoration strategy, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and supporting its ambitious growth plans.

In recent months, SpiceJet has made significant strides in resolving disputes with prominent lessors, including Export Development Canada, Aircastle, and Engine Lease Finance Corporation. These agreements reflect the airline’s commitment to operational resilience and its drive to expand and strengthen its fleet.

With this strategic initiative, SpiceJet continues to focus on building a sustainable and robust operation, offering greater reliability and service as it ramps up its operations and continues to recover from previous challenges. The airline’s ongoing efforts are set to enhance its fleet capabilities and ensure long-term growth in the competitive aviation market.
