Bangalore: Generating billions of rupees in annual revenue, Indian companies have also marked their presence in par with other global giants. The annual list of Fortune 500 companies in India, presented a chart of the top companies in the country based on the revenue produced. Here is the list of India’s 10 biggest companies as compiled by Rediff.
#10 Coal India Limited (CIL)

Headquartered in Kolkota, Coal India is the single largest coal producer in the world and contributes around 81 percent of the coal production in India. CIL was founded in 1975 with a production of just 79 million tonnes in the initial stage to reach a whooping production of 452 million tonnes of coal during the year 2012–13. The company is owned by the state government and is controlled by the ministry of coal.
