A new partnership has been announced to advance the esports business in India, forming a joint venture (JV) that combines the strengths of BLAST and Jio. This collaboration aims to leverage BLAST's expertise in esports media production, publisher relationships, and intellectual properties, alongside Jio's technological capabilities, extensive distribution network, and local connections. The JV will host esports events on the JioGames platform, fostering sustainable growth and innovation within the industry.

The joint venture will address the entire spectrum of esports, offering services to publishers and sponsors, comprehensive tournament management, targeted marketing, and production and broadcasting solutions.

Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "India is one of the most exciting and fastest-growing gaming markets globally, with a rapidly expanding esports audience eager for competitive gaming experiences. This joint venture will not only enhance the Indian esports ecosystem but also create new opportunities for local talent to shine on the international stage."

Devang Bhimjyani, Head of Reliance Sports, emphasized the potential of this collaboration, noting that it will enable Indian esports to reach its full potential. He highlighted Reliance's commitment to expanding its sports interests into the esports domain, utilizing RISE's marketing capabilities to promote events and teams, while Jio contributes its distribution and technology expertise.

As esports continues to gain traction worldwide, with organizations like the International Olympic Committee planning annual series and the Olympic Council of Asia including it in the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games, this partnership positions India at the forefront of this dynamic industry.
