In short

  • Nutanix and Pure Storage have formed a strategic alliance to create an integrated infrastructure solution
  • The collaboration of Nutanix's Cloud Platform with Pure Storage's FlashArray, aiming to modernize virtual workloads
  • The solution is expected to be available for early access in summer 2025

Nutanix and Pure Storage have entered into a strategic alliance to provide a highly integrated infrastructure solution. The solution is intended to host high-performance, mission-critical workloads, such as AI, with scalability, security, and flexibility.

The announcement was made at the NEXT Conference in Washington, DC.

The partnership brings together the Nutanix Cloud Platform, driven by the AHV hypervisor and Nutanix Flow virtual networking and security, with Pure Storage's FlashArray, using NVMe/TCP connectivity.

The objective is to assist businesses in modernizing virtual workloads and better managing them within a changing virtualization environment. The new offering is co-developed with the help of industry partners and early customers.

"Our integrated solution will be well positioned for companies with storage-dense environments seeking options in modernization," said Tarkan Maner, Nutanix's chief commercial officer.

The solution will be supported on server hardware partners already supporting Pure FlashArray, such as Cisco, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro. Cisco and Pure Storage are also extending their over 60 validated FlashStack designs long-standing partnership to now include Nutanix in the portfolio.

“With more than 13,500 global customers, I’m hearing more than ever that organisations of all shapes and sizes have a growing need for efficient, flexible, and high-performance solutions that can also scale to support their most critical, data-intensive applications,” said Maciej Kranz, general manager, enterprise at Pure Storage.

But the combined solution is still being developed. Early access is targeted for summer 2025, with general availability at the end of the year via Nutanix and Pure Storage channel partners.
