The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Western Australia  (CCIWA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) directed at boosting trade and business ties between Western Australia (WA) and India, with a special focus on small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This initiative aims to foster stronger economic relations. The MoU was signed by AIBC National Chair, Deepak-Raj Gupta OAM and CCIWA President, Paritosh Misra during a visit to WA.

This partnership is designed to remove barriers and turn positive relations into tangible business deals, with a focus on key sectors like critical minerals, energy, education, innovation, and tourism. Gupta emphasized that WA is a crucial gateway for Australia’s trade with India, as trade has grown nearly fourfold to $9.1 billion in the past decade.

The initiative will involve roundtables, sector missions, and networking opportunities to help businesses from both countries connect and collaborate. Support from the WA Government, CCIWA leadership, and the Indian Consulate will be key to making this a success.
