Yes! The union Government has proposed some tweaks in the laws and if reformed, malls, eating joints, movies halls, markets shall be permitted to operate 24/7 and new law may influence in the rise of the retail sector in country.
Currently, retail is among the leading businesses in the India that accounts about 22 percent to the economy and also is among the quickly growing industries in the country by employing 3.3 percent population of the country.
The ecommerce, which is also growing briskly, is also gradually driving the customers towards its business. Hence to balance the customer traffic of both the industries, the central government has planned to reform the existing laws, under which movie houses can run their shows all night, restaurants can serve food even after mid night and stores in malls can be open endlessly. The law will also helps in creation of higher number of jobs under the respective sector, since employers need more number of employs to work in shifts.
Based on the various laws of the regional governments, the everyday schedule of the malls is different and none of the state government has permitted 24/7 operation to the respective industry. Further, the retail sector is projected to rise 15 percent by 2020, with the value of $1 trillion by the experts in the industry.
