Mahindra Joins Forces with Anduril Industries in High-Tech Partnership

Mumbai-based Mahindra Group and US-based Anduril Industries announced a strategic partnership on Wednesday to co-develop autonomous maritime systems, AI-driven Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS), and Command and Control (C2) software.

The partnership aims to bolster regional security by deploying next-generation autonomous solutions designed to enhance maritime operations. Key initiatives include the development of modular Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) that can be swiftly deployed for various missions such as security, surveillance, surveys, and reconnaissance. These advanced AUVs will enable more efficient and effective responses to maritime threats while improving operational capabilities in challenging environments. The collaboration also focuses on expanding technological capabilities to ensure faster and more flexible maritime security solutions.

The Counter Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS) developed through the partnership will be capable of detecting and neutralizing drone threats. Additionally, the collaboration will focus on creating a sensor fusion platform that integrates various sensor technologies into a flexible, open API architecture. This will streamline the integration process and accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, making them more accessible for complex security programs, according to a statement.

Vinod Sahay, Group Executive Board Member of Mahindra Group, says “Partnering with Anduril Industries marks a significant milestone in Mahindra Group’s commitment to developing advanced security and autonomous technologies”.

Greg Kausner, Senior Vice President of Global Defence at Anduril Industries, stated, “Global security forces face a rapidly evolving set of threats from both emerging unmanned systems and legacy manned platforms, and autonomy is key to maintaining a credible protection”.
