Canadian athleisure giant Lululemon Athletica is set to make its long-awaited debut in India in the second half of 2026 through a strategic partnership with Tata CLiQ. Announced on July 15, the collaboration will see Lululemon open its first physical store in India, alongside launching digital storefronts on Tata CLiQ Luxury and Tata CLiQ Fashion.
This entry marks a significant step in Lululemon’s global expansion strategy and reflects the brand’s focus on India’s rapidly growing wellness and fitness ecosystem. The company plans to bring its premium range of athletic and lifestyle apparel, footwear, and accessories tailored for yoga, running, golf, tennis, and general training.
“Bringing Lululemon to India has been part of our expansion roadmap for several years”, said André Maestrini, Executive Vice President of International at Lululemon. “We look forward to connecting with India’s guests and communities and supporting their active lifestyles through incredible products and experiences”.
Beyond retail, Lululemon aims to engage Indian consumers through curated wellness events and community activations, fostering movement and connection within fitness-conscious circles.
Lululemon has been building its India presence even before this official launch. In a strategic move, the company established a tech hub in Bengaluru four years ago its first outside North America to bolster its global operations using advanced analytics, machine learning, and inventory optimization.
As India’s health-conscious consumer base continues to grow, Lululemon’s entry is expected to add premium momentum to the country’s evolving athleisure market.
