The economic freedom score of Singapore is 88 which make it the second freest economy after Hong Kong in 2013 Index. Its score has gone up 0.5 points compared to the last year. It is one of the top three oil refining centres in the world, the fourth leading financial centre and second biggest market for casino gambling. Over the years, it has emerged as a global wealth management hub.

Taiwan is the 19th largest economy in the world based on its purchasing power parity (PPP). It ranks 18th in the world according to GDP at PPP per capita and is 24th in nominal GDP. Taiwan has been experiencing a moderate growth rate before a slight fall of about 1.3 percent in 2012 due to softening global demand.
