India can be in Top 5 for Costa Coffee in 5 yrs: Philippe Schaillee
Philippe Schaillee, Costa Coffee's Global CEO, has been positive about the potential of the Indian market, which at present ranks in the top 10 for the coffee chain. According to him, India can make it to the top five markets over the next five years.
At a recent media roundtable, Schaillee said, "We are optimistic that with our current growth rates, we can move India into the top five. This is a goal we are determined to achieve." He pointed out that India is already established as one of the world's top 20 coffee markets with strong double-digit growth.
Schaillee expects this growth not only to continue but also to intensify as Indian consumers increasingly accept a broader spectrum of beverage choices. The emerging trend of coffee consumption, in addition to the developing café culture, makes India a major force in the international coffee market. Costa Coffee hopes to ride this wave, targeting the expansion of its presence and offerings to suit the changing tastes of Indian consumers. With its strategic mindset and growth agenda, Costa Coffee is ready to consolidate its position in India and possibly become one of the top five coffee markets in the very near future
