BENGALURU: Twelve years ago, a college student unveiled a social networking site, at the time limited to just fellow Harvard students, originally named “The Facebook” – within the first year, it hoarded more than 50 million active users and then became the steamroller of social media. With users more than the population of world's most populous nation China, Facebook has become the most popular social media app on smartphones and accounts for 66% of all social media sharing on iPhones.
