BENGALURU: Anil Kapoor boards the elite entrepreneurial club of Indian celebs rooting for technology, after recently having invested in the popular video social network website, Indi.com. On April 28, the talent hunt website, which has a global fan following, is all set to mark its footprint on Indian soil, reports businessinsider.in.
Mr. Kapoor has already started with his advertising campaign for Indi.com, as one would note when visiting or browsing through the websites. The social video website regularly conducts “Challenges” under key themes: music, acting, comedy, poetry, film, sports, food, fashion and other such areas of interests.
Started in 2012 in South California Neel Grover and Greg Giraudi, Indi.com is a platform where, members can submit their videos, and the performance that gets most hits/likes among peers would be rewarded with cash prizes. Occasionally, Indi.com also ropes in acclaimed recording studios, music directors, and casting-directors as part of their panel of judges. Indi.com’s main source of revenue generation would be partnership fee from the brands, retailers, studios, and advertisements, although, the ad-generated revenue would have a 70 percent lean towards channel owners and the rest to Indi.com.
Kapoor has prided on the fact that he would finally be giving back something to the country that had generously embraced and empowered his talents. The actor is enthused and excited to be part of the emerging trend for start-ups in India, with Indi.com being his first venture. Later he had also tweeted, “If finding the right platform for your talent has been a challenge, then #ChallengeAccepted.” Indi.com has clinched this as their marketing slogan, and they sure are a modern-day stage-setter for contestants who yearn for a spot under the limelight. So India, grab your mike, clap the board, walk the ramp, and be prepared to say, “Challenge accepted!”
