Fashion platform 'Myntra' embarks on experimenting with 'Four-hour' Delivery service in India
Flipkart owned fashion and Lifestyle e-commerce platform Myntra is going to start the testing of their new four-hour delivery service in four metro cities of India. The media report reveals that, the list of the four cities includes Bengaluru and New Delhi.
The platform has made a notable change in its delivery time frame, reducing it from the usual 2-3-day duration to cater to India's fast-paced commerce industry. This move responds to the increasing demand for prompt deliveries.
Presently, during this experimental phase, only select items are available on speedy shipping with intentions of extending the service across more cities before year-end.
As the demand for speedy deliveries is skyrocketing in India, particularly in areas such as grocery and office supplies where market giants Blinkit and Zepto have already set records delivering within 10-15 minutes, Myntra's decision to expand its delivery window to four hours comes at an opportune time. This move from Myntra serves as a reflection of the growing preference among customers across sectors for prompt online order processing that ensures minimum wait times.
Myntra’s expansion into this quick commerce sector is reflecting the company’s broader shift towards the dynamic and vast Indian e-commerce space. Myntra greatest competitors like flipkart and Amazon are also putting efforts and attention into this sector and supplying according to the demand of the customer and giving neck to neck competition to each other.
Although Amazon has not fully entered the quick commerce race, Flipkart, which owns Myntra, has already introduced its own rapid delivery service, Flipkart Minutes, in select cities. As more e-commerce platforms focus on shortening delivery times, competition in this fast-growing market is expected to escalate.
Due to the numerous product options and increased rate of customer returns, e-commerce platforms in India have traditionally faced difficulties when dealing with fashion items.
Despite having approximately 40 million users who conduct transactions on a yearly basis, Myntra is constantly trying out new methods to improve its delivery times.
Over the years, the company has been making steady enhancements to its services. In 2022, it introduced 'M-Express', a service designed to transport goods in select cities within 24 to 48 hours. Continuing with their efforts of keeping up with evolving customer demands, they are currently conducting trials for a four-hour delivery service which is seen as their next move forward.
