DPIIT partners with Kyndryl in India's manufacturing and IT startup
Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyndryl Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to develop the Indian startup ecosystem through innovation.
The initiative intends to propel digital transformation and Generative AI (GenAI) adoption among startups, enabling them to scale up across different industries. Further, it aims to enhance India's manufacturing and IT industries through mentorship, technological assistance, and exposure to enterprise-grade solutions.
The collaboration will concentrate on helping startups create sophisticated solutions in areas like automotive, pharma, banking, oil and gas, and government services. By embedding these innovations within enterprise systems, the program will make startups more competitive, enabling them to support product development, market readiness, cybersecurity, and global expansion.
Kyndryl will develop niche programs for digital product startups and AI innovators to provide them with the required mentoring and resources to succeed. The collaboration will also involve advisory workshops, industry forums, and policy inputs from DPIIT and Startup India, aiming to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. Additionally, government incentives will be offered to aid in the growth of startups.
Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, stressed that the pact takes advantage of Kyndryl's worldwide experience in digital transformation to drive the development of India's startups, particularly those that have been operating with Generative AI. The MoU was inked by DPIIT's Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal and a representative of Kyndryl, while senior officials of both sides attended.
