Bima Sugam Selects Protean eGov for Rs 100 Crore Digital Insurance Marketplace Project

Protean eGov Technologies has announced the receipt of a significant work order worth approximately Rs 100 crore from the Bima Sugam India Federation (BSIF). The company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it was awarded the project on June 9, 2025, following a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
As part of the engagement, Protean will serve as the technology solution provider for the development and implementation of the Bima Sugam Marketplace a digital platform designed to unify insurance products and services across India. The contract includes responsibilities such as platform integration, protocol design, support, and ongoing maintenance.
“This engagement further strengthens Protean’s role as a trusted technology partner in India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) journey”, the company said, highlighting its legacy of enabling citizen-centric digital systems at scale.
The project is expected to be completed within 72 months from the execution date of the contract.
BSIF, a not-for-profit entity comprising key stakeholders from the Indian insurance sector, is tasked with governing the Bima Sugam platform, envisioned as a nationwide digital insurance marketplace.
Despite the positive announcement, shares of Protean eGov Technologies were trading 4.45% lower at Rs 994.00 as of 9:40 am today.
