- Adani Power reported a 27.1% sequential rise in Q1 FY26 profit to Rs 3,305 crore despite weather-driven demand slowdown.
- Operating capacity rose to 18,150 MW in July 2025 through strategic acquisitions.
- Q1 revenue remained steady at Rs 14,167 crore, supported by better merchant realisation despite lower volumes.
Adani Power Ltd reported a robust 27.1% sequential rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3,305 crore for the April-June quarter of FY26 (Q1), up from Rs 2,599.23 crore in Q4 FY25. The growth reflects the company’s resilience despite softer power demand caused by early monsoons.
The company’s consolidated power sales volume rose modestly by 1.6% year-on-year to 24.6 billion units (BU) in Q1 FY26, up from 24.2 BU in Q1 FY25. This performance came despite a high base and unseasonal rainfall impacting electricity demand.
Total consolidated revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 14,167 crore, slightly lower than Rs 15,052 crore in Q1 FY25, primarily due to reduced merchant tariff realisation and lower imported coal prices. However, revenue remained steady compared to the previous quarter (Q4 FY25) owing to improved merchant market realisations.
S.B. Khyalia, CEO of Adani Power Ltd, stated, “This quarter’s performance highlights our strong fundamentals and adaptability in fluctuating demand scenarios. We are executing projects swiftly and acquiring assets strategically to advance towards our 30 GW capacity target by 2030”.
The company’s operating capacity rose significantly from 15,250 MW in Q1 FY25 to 17,550 MW in Q1 FY26, aided by recent acquisitions including Moxie Power Generation Ltd (1,200 MW), Korba Power Ltd (600 MW), and Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station (500 MW). In July 2025, capacity further increased to 18,150 MW after acquiring Vidarbha Industries Power Ltd (600 MW).
Khyalia reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustainability and delivering affordable, reliable power. “By securing key equipment like Ultra-supercritical turbines and generators ahead of schedule, we are enhancing our long-term competitive edge”, he added.
Despite weather-related demand disruptions, Adani Power continues to position itself as a major force in India’s energy landscape through strategic growth and operational efficiency.
