Through the Smarter Cities initiative, which launched three years ago, it continues to bring innovation to the world. In the French city of Lyon, IBM used Big Data to improve traffic flow by predicting points of congestion.

Interestingly, IBM is also launching new syllabus centered on Big Data and analytics at institutions like Georgetown and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to prepare students for roughly 4.4 million Big Data jobs that will be created by 2015.
