Small Towns Lead In M-Payment App Usage: Survey



BENGALURU: As India tends to be more dependent on mobile and plastic money, smart phone users are going cashless. Most of them have shown a wide adaptability in mobile app based payment mode.

The use of mobile apps can be called equal in percentage in both mega cities and small towns. While 57pct of city users show inclination towards mobile app, 52pct is the count in case of small towns. Mobile phone users in small towns tend to spend 82minutes of a month is these mobile based transactions.

The exact count of mobile phone user is presently 54million as on July, of whom 40pct – 50pct avails mobile based monetary transactions in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

A research by the Nielsen Informate Mobile Insights says that one in every two user opts for mobile transaction, while the same count was five among one last year.

Though the success of e-portals remain uncertain after going app only, yet data reveals that gradually mobile pay is taking over dependence on website.

Paytm reveals 10 users out of 10 use their app while one, depends on the website for transactions.
