Sanjiv Goenka: 2013 Indian Business Leader Of The Year

Bangalore: Sanjiv Goenka is the Vice-Chairman of RP Sanjiv Goenka Group was honored with the tag of "2013 Indian Business Leader of the Year" at the Global India Business Meeting 2013 held at Belfast UK, reports Debjoy Sengupta of ET. The ceremony took place in the presence of 300 delegates from India and Northern Ireland business houses, as also government officials.

The main objective of the Global India Business Meeting is to generate a strong platform for friendly relations between India and the rest of the world. This meeting is regarded as one of the foremost gathering platforms of Indian business leaders and their global counterparts.

This award to Goenka reclaims his position among out of the ordinary entrepreneurs in India and appreciates the success of his business enterprise.

The 14, 000 crore RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group is a major conglomerate of power coal mining ( ICML), carbon black (Phillips Carbon Black), organized retail (Spencer's), Music & Entertainment (Saregama India) and business process outsourcing (Firstsource Solutions).

With assets worth U.S. $4.3 billion and profit numbers surpassing U.S. $220 million, the annual revenue accounts for U.S. $2.5 billion.

The prestigious award was awarded by Anand Sharma, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry to Sanjiv Goenka at Belfast.
