Online Shopping- New Hub of Big Value Purchases


Bangalore: You knew it was coming! From being a niche product buyer like books or electronics, India has now arrived at high-value online shopping arena, It was then said that diamond jewelry was the costliest purchase online, but not anymore with the arrival of big ticket purchases like cars, real estate and houses, reports The Times of India.

The fact that five houses worth 25 crore, 35 Nissan cars and over 250 Tata Motor vehicles were sold in four days during the recently concluded great online shopping festival conducted by Google is testimony to this. According to the data shared by the internet search giant the e-tailing market is set to grow eight times from $2billion in 2012 to $16 billion by 2016.

The growth of India’s e-tailing is different and several e-commerce players are trying to bring out innovative schemes and options like cash on delivery and free exchange/return. This also helps the industry grow gradually and develop faith in the customers to buy high value products.
