3. Google

Google has been bumped down by arch rival Samsung to the third slot on the list of most innovative companies. The American MNC specializing in Internet-related products and services has hold on to the 2nd position for 7 consecutive years till 2012. Google has always been able to amaze everyone with its awesome innovations like its recent efforts to have password alternatives, Google glass and so on.

2. Samsung

Over the years, Samsung has evolved as the global leader in chip design, screen technology, TVs and batteries. However, it has earned a not so good reputation of copying the innovations of others. Most of us have witnessed a ‘tug-of-war’ between Apple and Samsung regarding smart phone innovations, especially around the Galaxy designs. But its sheer contribution towards technology has earned the South Korean company the 2nd slot on the list of most innovative companies.

1. Apple

One more year on the list of most innovative companies, and Apple would complete a decade on the same. For 9 consecutive years Apple has been named as the most innovative company by The Boston Consulting Group. The company’s CEO, Tim Cook believes that ‘to stay in business one has to keep innovating and that to not innovate is to die’. However, few may argue that the American multinational company has lost its innovative touch based on the resemblance of iPhone 5s to iPhone 5.
