India, Portugal Can Together Build Stronger Partnership: President


NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee said India and Portugal can work together to build a "stronger partnership", a statement from the Rashtrapati Bhawan said.

In a message to his Portuguese counterpart Anibal Cavaco Silva on the eve of the country's National Day (June 10), Mukherjee said: "India cherishes its warm and friendly relations with Portugal. Both our nations have a shared desire to further develop our political, economic and cultural ties to their full potential for mutual benefit of our people."

"I am confident that we can work together to build a stronger partnership between our two countries," he added.

Mukherjee said it gave him "great pleasure to convey warm greetings and felicitations to you, the government and the people of Portugal on the occasion of your National Day".

"Please accept, my best wishes for your personal health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Portugal," he added.
