India Home To Largest Number Of Ultra HNI Women


Bangalore: With the total wealth of $934 billion, India’s ultra high net worth (UNHW) population has increased from 7,730 in 2012 to 7,850 in 2013. However their total wealth also looks bigger from $925 billion in 2012 to $935 billion in 2013, reports Nikhil Inamdar of Business Standard.

India had more number of UHNW individuals from past 12 months than any other nations that comes under BRICS. However, billionaires were among the weakest performing wealth tier in 2012 losing up to 5.3 percent of their wealth.

Individuals having net worth of more than $30 million are considered as high net worth individuals by UBS Wealth-X report.

The report carried the most interesting aspect about Indian women. That is, Indian women have topped the UNHW charts. India has the 16 percent of UHNW female proportion of total UHNW population of any of the countries that is studied in the UBS Wealth-X report.

The report revealed that, Indian UHNW individuals are the most generous donors when compared to other countries. On an average, they donated up to 10.6 percent from their total net worth.

Maximum numbers of UNHW reside in Mumbai and Delhi. The report showed that more than 50 percent of UHNW stay in these cities when other concentrated on cities like Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Gurgaon and Jaipur.
