Bangalore: IBM has launched its easy-to-manage storage system portfolio designed to address growing data requirements of SMBs. Small and Medium sized businesses (SMB) are accountable for 65 percent of GDP and are responsible for nearly 90 percent of the work force.

Big Data is a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications. It is assumed that the Big Data market is also on the verge of a rapid growth and will top the $50 billion mark worldwide. However, SMB businesses have been facing data intensive business challenges and grappling with making sense of the growing volume and velocity of data from a variety of sources.

IBM has taken an initiative to help these SMB by helping them acquire technologies that will help them differentiate their business, provide them with financing options that will enable them to acquire these advanced technologies and ultimately bring efficiency to drive business growth.
