GUWAHATI: Two-wheeler major Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is looking at expanding market in North Eastern states on the back of its recently launched mass segment bike 'Dream Yuga'.

"With features like 72 kmpl mileage, MF battery and intelligent ignition control system, we are sure of very good acceptance for Dream Yuga among the target group across North East," HMSI Regional Head - East, Shreenath Kamlapurker told PTI.

He said the company plans to sell three lakh units of the bike across India in 2012-13 and expressed hope that a good chunk of it will be from the North East.

Kamlapurker said, "We have 12 per cent market share and are looking to grow in volume by 30 per cent over last year."

HMSI is also looking at strengthening its dealership network in the region.

"We have 21 networks in the North East currently and will review it based on growth of industry and potential," he said.

The company is confident that the Dream Yuga will create a new benchmark for mass mobility in the country, he added.
