Famous Indian CEO Sex Scandals

Bangalore: Women’s safety in India has reached the minimum level of concern. Since last few months, plenty of inhuman and brutal acts against women have been hitting the headlines. Not only on the roads or within the building premises, nowadays women are not safer inside the corporate buildings.

There is no doubt that CEOs enjoy the highest level of power in any company and can also ask questions to anyone within the company. But, at times, even the CEOs have to answer others in the company for all the wrong reasons.

Dev Chatterjee from Rediff has listed some of the well known CEOs from India who have been involved in sexual harassment in their companies.

1. Phaneesh Murthy
iGate

Phaneesh Murthy started his career with the IT leader, Infosys. Despite of being one of the most responsible employees in Infosys, Murthy had to leave Infosys in 2003 after he was reported to have harassed one of the female employees in the same company. Even though he was denying all the allegations, he had to step down from the company. After leaving Infosys, Murthy founded Quintant Services, which was later acquired by iGate and Murthy was appointed as the CEO of iGate.

May 2013, once again, Murthy made it to the headlines for the same old wrong reason. Araceli Roiz, one of the female employees from iGate has filed sexual harassment case against Murthy.

Even though Murthy clearly denied the allegations, he has accepted the fact; they both were in a relation from quite a long time. He also accepted that he has violated the company’s guidelines, by not reporting his relationship with Roiz to the authority.
