Ease Of Doing Business: Pakistan Ranks Ahead Of India In 2014

BANGALORE: The Modi government is firing on all cylinders to make India a land where business would be easy to run. Many campaigns, tax reductions and benefits have been given to business houses to expand but more than that, the government is attracting international businesses to come and set up industries here in India.

Though there are rigorous steps being implemented slowly, India dropped two points to 142nd place on the list of “Ease of doing business” standings. It is also a shame for India that, smaller neighboring countries have better ranks. But the biggest blow would be that Pakistan, the bitter rival, is ranked way above India at 129th rank. Here is a look at some of the standings reported by World Bank.

Singapore:

Ranked no.1 for ease of doing business, Singapore is one of the most prosperous countries in the world. This country is not only business friendly but also has huge opportunities with education. The process of starting a business is very easy and takes maximum five days to get a business approved and running.

The reform of the country’s business sector is very liberal and thus is the sought out destination to start a business.

New Zealand comes in next on the list, followed by Hong Kong, Denmark, Republic of Korea,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Norway, United States, United Kingdom, Finland and Australia.

Well focusing on neighboring countries that are ranked better than India, here is a list of them.

Nepal:

This tiny landlocked country is ranked at 108 that is way above India, though the economy is not as great nor does it have a huge business prospect. Well the result is because Nepal has a really fast process to set up business. There is no long complicated process that exists in India.
