E-Commerce Plays Major Role in the Increased Advertiser Base in India
BANGALORE: As the e-commerce business is ruling the Indian economy, we could see several changes in the advertising culture of the country. For the first time in past five years over 2,000 new companies have joined the advertiser base with in September 2015. These calculations are expected to get higher by 500 more jonnies by the end of this year, reports rediff.com
According to show data from TAM Adex, which keeps a check on advertising across various mediums such as print, television and radio the advertiser base has gone up to 12,248 as compared with 10,065 in 2014. Thus the data states a whooping growth of 26.65 percent within a year by the end of 2015.
The managing director of ZenithOptimedia, Hari Krishnan stated that, "While there was heavy spending by political parties due to general and state elections last year, one cannot ignore the bump-up that new categories like e-commerce, start-ups and new-age companies are giving to overall advertising. Flush with funds from private equity and venture capitalists, these companies are hardly missing out on any opportunity to make them visible,"
The growth in the advertising sector is accountant to the e-commerce startups in the country since they are all in to marketing with new strategies. The CEO of Indiasarihouse.com, Arvind Sharma said, "The e-commerce and start-up boom has led to a surge in the entrepreneurial spirit of many Indians. With access to seed and growth capital becoming fairly easy, many entrepreneurs now have the confidence to advertise their products and services,"
