Bangalore: It has become a trend among the star wives in Bollywood to enter into business, smaller or bigger, be it designing or film production. Most of them were actresses prior to their marriages. After getting married they left the stardom behind for they were more determined to prove themselves than simply being a homemaker. Moreover, by entering into business, what they wanted was, like all other highly passionate women, to express themselves and win the world.

1. ‘The Queen Khan’

Gauri Khan got married to the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan in 1991 and gave birth to Aryan in 1997 and Suhana in 2000. She is much a known figure through her multifaceted enterprises. She heads her husband’s production house. She also works with Sussanne Roshan in furniture designing.

The Punjabi girl is a degree holder. She met the actor in 1984 and married him before any of his movies were released. In 1990s, Gauri used to host a hindi music show, “Oye.” She started interior designing as a hobby. Later she professionally ventured into it partnering Sussanne Roshan.

Mrs. Khan, the co-founder of the motion picture production and distribution company named ‘Red Chillies Entertaiment’, now serves as the main producer. The first film she produced was Farah Khan’s directorial debut, “Main Hoon Na.” Ever since she has produced seven films, among which some starred King Khan himself in the main role. She has also made a guest appearance in her film “Om Shanti Om”.

2. Creative Sussanne Out, Loving Wife In

It was from her mother that Sussanne Roshan, the most adorable wife of the Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, got inspiration of stepping into designing. She has the Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Designing from U. S. and owns the “House of Design.” She also runs an interior design store, “Charcoal Project” in Mumbai.

The envy of Indian teenagers, Sussanne is the daughter to the actor/director Sanjay Khan and Zarine Khan. Sussanne and Hrithik, the childhood friends, became lovers and got married to each other in 2000. And since then Sussanne has been Hrithik’s support, love and confidante. In the early 2006, she became a mother giving birth to the couple’s first child, Hrehaan.  Today, apart from being the wife to a super star, she remains unique having a successful career of her own.
