Air India Express To Have A Permanent CEO
Kochi: Air India Express, the budget airline of Air India, will soon have a permanent CEO, said Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal.
"The notification for it would be coming out in the next few days," Venugopal told reporters here, after an interaction with the airline staff here.
He also said that Air India Express headquarters would be shifted from Mumbai to Kochi in a phased manner.
"Special incentives will now be given to the employees so as to improve the customer service," said Venugopal.
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh asked the Air India management to remove its General Manager, Operations, H.Y. Samant from the post for his failure to put a crew in place for a Mumbai-Singapore flight on Jan 1.
The Mumbai-Singapore A-330 flight did not take off Jan 1 mid-night because of non-availability of the crew. On preliminary enquiry, it was found that Capt. R.S. Dhillon was supposed to fly the said flight.
