Microsoft’s co-founder Bill Gates has topped the list 15 times in the last 20 years. This year Forbes estimates his current net worth to be $76 billion. He is an American business magnate, philanthropist, investor, computer programmer, and inventor. Gates is the former chief executive and Chairman of Microsoft, the world’s largest personal-computer software company, which he co-founded with Paul Allen.

As of 2014, the current total wealth of Bill Gates is more than the total GDP of Syrian Arab Republic in 2012 which was around $73.67billion. Syria is called as "lower middle income country" by the World Bank and this country is in to exports of crude oil, refined products, raw cotton, clothing, fruits, and grains.
