3 Indian Firms Join The Billion-Dollar Club

Bangalore: India’s largest media firms Times Group, Zee Group and STAR India has now become a part of the billion-dollar club, reports Business Standard.

In terms of the annual revenue, these companies are making just a billion dollar in a juncture where dollar has been battering the rupee. This has become the most blissful insight business standard has included in its annual report on India’s top media firms.

However, the study is based on the amount of information available despite the industry keeps their activities secret.

Secondly, it was calculated on the basis of the company’s revenue. If we take a close look at top five companies and the bottom five, there is a huge gap between these two categories of companies in terms of the revenue earned.

Times Group is the only company on the list that makes huge profit through publishing. Other companies that are managing to scale up to the top are from the broadcasting or TV distribution. Factors like consolidation and digitization has helped them to achieve it.
