20 Indian Companies Among Global Challengers


Bangalore: “BCG” (Boston Consulting Group) has issued a report mentioning the names of 100 companies around the globe as the ‘Global Challengers’. According to this report, these 100 companies are the most common names in today’s business world who has added more than 1 million jobs and the entire world economy has to depend on these companies to a larger extent.

For the first time, companies from Qatar and Colombia have got a place in this list. The other countries include Brazil, China, Chile, Egypt and South Africa are also in this list. China tops this list with 30 companies followed by India (20), Brazil (13), Mexico (7), Russia (6) and South Africa (5).

The 20 Indian companies which has made it to this list are as follows:

1. Reliance Industries (RIL)

One of the most common name in the Indian market, RIL is the second largest company in India by revenue and the largest private sector company in India.

RIL has their head quarter in Mumbai (India) and is one of the prominent name in the BCG’s list of the 100 companies. With a wide grip in telecom, petrochemicals, refining and gas industry RIL is expanding its hold in other fields like textile, retail business.

2. Tata Steel

Tata Steel is one of the dominating names in the Indian Steel industries having it’s headquarter in Mumbai, India.

Established on August 26, 1907 by Dorabji Tata, this company now is the 12th largest steel producing company in the world with a capacity of more than 23 million tones. It is one of the largest private sector steel companies in India.

At present Tata Steel operates in countries like China, Singapore, Thailand, United Kingdom, Netherlands and many more.
