7. Bank Executive Becoming Bold
In 2006, a New York regulator released explosive accusations against a U.K. based bank Standard Chartered blaming it of facilitating billions of dollars in transaction for Iran, which is currently under U.S. sanctions.
According to the regulator’s complaint, Richard Meddings, the bank’s then Finance Director (as reported by New York Post), allegedly said: “You f—ing Americans. Who are you to tell us, the rest of the world, that we’re not going to deal with Iranians?”
8. 'Please explain your rationale for the rainbow'
Now this is really an interesting story. Recently an aspiring trader named Matthew emailed a trader named Carl about what it takes to get a job in the industry for which the latter responded that a ‘little more colour’ should be added on what he is passionate about.
Well, poor Matthew sent back a very colourful email indeed using colourful Comic sans fonts.
Carl could only say, "Please explain your rationale for the rainbow." And the very line became a ‘classic’ on the Street.
