Establishment: 1902 Affiliation: Deemed University Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, established by Swami Shradhanandji in 1902 with a view to regaining the ancient Indian Gurukul style of education. A wide range of courses, from ancient to modern education are offered by the university to cater to the educational needs of region. The university has been given the status of deemed university by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1962. The Department of Computer Science was established in 1988 with the introduction of Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), UGC accorded the approval of upgrading PGDCA to MCA in the year 1993.
