Shanthi Charitable Trust well known as SCT Institute of Technology is one of the engineering colleges in Bangalore which was established in the year 2001, with due approval of AICTE, New Delhi and Govt of Karnataka. Since then, SCTIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, India.

SCT Institute of Technology is ideally located in a sprawling campus of over 10 acres in Vignan Nagar, just 14 Kms from the heart of Bangalore; i.e., BMTC's central bus station. The campus sports a friendly environment with greenery all around. One can reach the campus either by BMTC's frequent buses or by taxis /auto-rickshaws. The campus is in the vicinity of several R & D laboratories of DRDO and PSUs such as HAL and BEML. The institute offers an array of courses to choose from, in different branches of engineering such as Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Computer, Information science etc. At the post graduate level SCTIT conducts regular 'Business Administration (MBA)' and 'Computer Application (MCA)' courses. The institute has the perfect ambience for students from diverse cultures to share and exchange ideas in honing individual skills in their preferred field of study.

Eligibility:
Minimum of 3 years of Bachelor's Degree with minimum 50% aggregate, from any University or equivalent.
Candidates appearing for final year Bachelor Degree examinations can also apply. Provided they complete all degree certification by 30th August 2011
Candidates who wish to apply for MBA+PGPTM are required to take any of the following entrance test
    Any competitive examinations (CAT/MAT/XAT/K MAT/ SNAP/ATMA/FMS or thers) or entrance test conducted by Excel(EBAT)
    GD(Group Discussion) and
    PI(Personal Interview)
Candidates who wish to obtain the Excel Prospectus for MBA +PGPTM through courier or post should send a DD of Rs.850/- in favor Excel Business Academy payable at Bangalore and send to the Institution address and those who wish to take it personal should pay Rs.800/- at the Institution admissions counter.


Admission process:
Candidates will be called for Counseling and Personal Interview only after they have successfully completed Academics and national level competitive tests. Please note that the Counseling and Personal Interview is necessary for either of the above mentioned programs and there is no exemption for these irrespective of exemption from the SCT Institute of Technology.

Armed with an engineering degree, Indian students are technically pretty sound. However, when it comes to placement, the critical question for landing plum assignments is “Are they readily employable?” The answer is a plain “No”.

We need to equip students with actionable knowledge, skills and personal qualities that help to create a great first impression with prospective employers. To groom our students to adapt to changing work cultures and to meet the demands of industry, we put them through specialized personal grooming programs during the final year of their curriculum. Professional trainers are engaged to conduct lectures on career development programs, personality development, quantitative and analytical reasoning skills, resume writing, group discussions and interview handling methods so as to render our students better employable.

The Placement Cell plays a vital role in forging fruitful and mutually beneficial linkages with industries and professional organizations. It liaises with various industries and associations to facilitate training, getting live projects as well as providing placement assistance to students. The cell also ensures an active interaction with the industry by organizing guest lectures and seminars. With vacation training being an important part of engineering education, the cell arranges for students placement for training sessions most appropriately. Moreover, final year projects are jointly organized with various software and hardware companies.
