Purushottam Institute of Engineering & Technology, Rourkela is managed by the Puroshottam Education and Welfare Trust founded in the year 1998 by a cohesive group of highly educated and enlightened persons from various socio-economic segments such as technocrats, administrative, practicing engineers, management personnel, Industrialists, social workers and esteemed senior citizens of the Steel City, Rourkela. The purpose of the Trust is to carry out diversified social, welfare and educational activities in the state of Orissa in General and Rourkela in particular. Besides community welfare activities, the trust also aims at imparting excellence in various facets of professional education such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Management, Mass Communication, Banking & Commerce for which there is dirth of integrated institute in Orissa. The ultimate aim is to produce Citizens of Exemplary Characteristics (PURUSHOTTAM) from the most modern & integrated educational institution in India for imparting professional education, proposed to be named as "Purushottam Academy of Excellence".

Admission Procedure:

 

Admission to the B.Tech. and Masters Programme is strictly on the basis of merit drawn by the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) as per the norms and guidelines issued by the DTET, Govt. of Orissa and AICTE, Govt. of India.

 

Training and Placement Cell

 

The institute has a full-fledged T&P Cell managed by experienced professionals & consultants. Several firms have conducted Campus Interviews and a large number of our students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd batch have already joined in various reputed organisations and 4th batch students have been selected/short listed. Many of our students being selected by Multinationals have already proceeded abroad.

 

Career development and guidance

 

Career development and guidance programs for the students are being conducted by expert professionals to guide and help students to know the avenues before them, choose career they wish to take up and successfully face the process of recruitment.

 

Programmes on personality development, communication skill, spoken english and subjective coaching classes are also being conducted for the students to prepare themselves for competitive examinations, group discussions and interviews.
