DU admissions activity dips Tuesday

New Delhi, Delhi University's third cut-off list for admissions saw a dip in percentages, but unlike other days the colleges Tuesday did not see many students and activity was dull as it seemed the admissions were getting over.
As Shri Ram College of Commerce had closed its admission for general students, the otherwise crowded college bore an empty look.
Similarly Kirori Mal College and Miranda House had few students taking admissions and some were even withdrawing to take admission in other colleges.
"I am moving to Ramjas College from Miranda House because I wanted to pursue B.Com (honours) and I have got it there," Rishika Sharma, who had qualified for economics honours at Miranda House told IANS.
Delhi University, one the premier varsities in the country, is conducting admissions for 54,000 seats in 61 colleges.
Meanwhile, a student Avantika Kapoor has taken admission to Sanskrit (honours) to get through in a north campus college.
"I have finally been able to get through sanskrit (honours) in Hansraj (College). I am just happy that I could qualify for a north campus college," Kapoor told IANS.
Some students who wanted to study the scrapped bachelors in management studies (honours) are now opting for B.Com (honours).
"I wanted to pursue BMS, but since its been scrapped I am going for B.Com (honours) from any college that I am able to qualify," Partho Mukherjee at Ramjas College told IANS.
Echoing similar sentiment Sushant Rai told IANS: "I had given entrance for BMS, but after it was scrapped I took admission for B.Com in Kirori Mal."
The students can take admissions in the third list from July 8-10 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
