ST: What is your job here?
KR: I’m working with the Centricity Perinatal Team on the new version of their
product.
ST: What do you like about your job?
KR: I like the challenge of working on technologies that I have no clue about. I love the work atmosphere, my team-mates and of course my bright and happy cubicle.
ST: What do you find challenging about your job?
KR: The simultaneous work on multiple technology platforms which includes VC++, J2EE, and C#, excites me. Since the problems are on different platforms it’s hard to keep track of all.
ST: What have you found that makes your job easier?
KR: Google is the best resource and design patterns simplify implementation tasks to a large extent. The new generation IDEs simplify my coding task.

ST: What is your job here?
RS: I work as a senior member of the R&D team, doing both people management and providing functional vision to the product.
ST: What do you like about your job?
RS: I am a part of the next generation solutions for the Supply Chain Industry.
ST: What do you find challenging about your job?
RS: Time and cost is important in the Supply Chain domain. The challenge lies in solving the customer’s business problems so that they can be delivered on time at the lowest cost.
ST: What have you found that makes your job easier?
RS: Reading, keeping myself abreast with the latest trends and talking to people. Keeping our eyes and ears open, is the best way to learn. This has helped me to gel with people at every level and get solutions faster.

Manish Shiralkar

Job: Technical Lead, Vision Products Development
ST: What is your job here?
MS: I have been working on the design and development of machine vision algorithms for embedded platform, which involves writing algorithms specifically tuned for DSP, effectively utilizing its architecture.
ST: What do you like about your job?
MS: Product development for an Indian product company.
ST: What do you find challenging about your job?
MS: Continuous learning and prototyping is required. Algorithm development has
two aspects: functional, and mapping it onto DSP. Multiple iterations are required to figure out best combination. Handling the flow of image data through the system is
important too.
ST: What have you found that makes your job easier?
MS: Good tools. Tools can make or break a project. IEEE online subscription is really useful for researching. Maintaining a daily journal also helps.
